Barrie Police were called to a Bayfield mall department store for a male who attempted to steal a pair of gardening gloves.
Police attended and found a 25 year old Barrie resident who was well known to Barrie Police.
The male is on charges of theft, possession of stolen property and breaching his probation and is also on probation for theft, possession of stolen property and failing to comply with his undertaking.
He was arrested for theft under $5000 and breach probation and transported to the Barrie Police Service.
The accused admitted he had no good reason for trying to steal the items
