DRIVER CHARGED WITH CARE AND CONTROL WHILE IMPARIRED
(Madoc Twp, ON) – On March 28, 2015 at 11:15 p.m. a member of Central Hastings O.P.P stopped to check on a disabled vehicle on Highway# 7 near Jarvis Road in Madoc Township. The officer discovered that the male driver and male passenger seated inside the car had been consuming alcohol.
As a result of the investigation the driver, 25 year old Christopher LEWIS of Tweed, ON was arrested and charged with Care and Control While Impaired by Alcohol and Care and Control Over 80mg. His vehicle was impounded for seven days and he was issued a ninety day administrative drivers licence suspension.
He will appear in Ontario Court of Justice – Belleville on May 7, 2015.
R.I.D.E PROGRAMS IDENTIFY SUSPENDED DRIVERS
(Tweed, ON) – On March 28, 2015 at 9:30 p.m. members of Central Hastings O.P.P conducted a R.I.D.E Program on Marlbank Road in the Municipality of Tweed. Officers checked fifty-five (55) vehicles including a 37 year old Tweed, ON man who was driving while his licence was suspended.
In addition on March 27, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. members of Central Hastings O.P.P conducted a R.I.D.E Program on Goat Hill Road at Centre Line Road in the Municipality of Marmora and Lake where a 35 year old Marmora, ON man who was found to be driving while his licence was suspended.
As a result both drivers were charged under the Highway Traffic Act and their vehicles were towed. They will appear in Provincial Offences Court in Belleville at the end of April 2015.
IMPAIRED DRIVER CHARGED
(Marmora, ON) – On March 27, 2015 at 11:55 p.m. members of Central Hastings O.P.P responded to a traffic complaint involving a possible impaired driver travelling west on Matthew Street in the Village of Marmora. The vehicle was reported to have forced another motorist off the road, drive in the wrong lane and then park at a motel on Highway #7.
Upon arrival officers located the female driver still seated in the parked car. As a result of their investigation the female driver 46 year old Katya KROPP of North York, ON was subsequently arrested and charged for Impaired Driving and Refuse to Provide Breath Sample. Her vehicle was impounded for seven days and she was issued a ninety day administrative drivers licence suspension. She will appear in Ontario Court of Justice – Belleville on May 7, 2015.
