(RED LAKE, ON) – On March 22, 2015 at approximately 12:40 am, Red Lake Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were on patrol on Lassie Rd in Balmertown within the Municipality of Red Lake.
The OPP officers observed a vehicle leave the area of a bar. Upon following the vehicle it exceeded the posted speed limit.
Police stopped the motor vehicle and determined that the driver had been drinking alcohol. A roadside screening device test was conducted and registered a fail. The driver was arrested and transported to the Red Lake OPP Detachment for further testing.
Melissa CABRAL, age 32, of Red Lake, has been charged with Over 80 Milligrams contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada, and Impaired Driving contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.
CABRAL is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on April 22, 2015, to answer to the charge.
