Renfrew OPP Weekly News

(RENFREW, ON) – The Renfrew Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to 164 calls for service during the past week.

Domestic Disputes

Renfrew OPP officers responded to eight calls relating to domestic disputes during the previous seven days. As a result one male was charged with 3 counts of assault, impaired driving, driving over 80mgs, domestic mischief and driving while under suspension. Another male was charged with uttering threats, assault and domestic mischief, while a third male was charged with theft under $5,000, fraud under $5,000, and domestic mischief. No other criminal offences occurred. Healthy relationships do not include threats, harassment, assaults, disregard to court orders or violence. If you need help with a domestic situation call 9-1-1.

Break and Enter

OPP officers responded to a reported break and enter at Arnprior Mini-Storage on Staye Court Drive in Arnprior. The owner advised two male suspects were observed on security cameras jumping over a fence to gain entry to the yard. Once inside they cut the locks off several storage lockers. The break in occurred on Monday March 16 shortly after 9pm. Provincial Constable Tamara Dube is investigating.

Theft

Several CD’s were stolen from a locked vehicle while it was parked in a parking lot on Stewart St in Renfrew overnight on March 25.

Items were stolen from an unlocked vehicle overnight on March 29 while it was parked on Stacey Drive in McNab-Braeside Township. Stolen items included keys, change, and pre-paid store cards.

OPP officers are investigating after a theft from the LCBO store in Renfrew. The theft was captured on store security cameras and a male and female are suspects. The theft occurred during the afternoon on Saturday March 28. The investigation is continuing.

A laptop computer was stolen from the Arnprior Town Hall between March 20 and March 23. The Hewlett-Packard Elitebook is valued at approx. $1,000. Provincial Constable David Ladd is investigating.

Mischief

Several window screens were damaged at a residence on Sixth Street in Renfrew. The damage occurred between March 16-27 while the home was vacant. It is believed someone was trying to break in and was not successful. Provincial Constable Kyle Mask investigated.

Victim Services of Renfrew County

The Renfrew OPP would like to thank Victim Services of Renfrew County for all they do for victims of crimes and tragedies in our communities. Victim services volunteers are available to provide on-site immediate assistance through police or fire referrals. With your consent, the police will call the Victim Services office. A team of trained volunteers can be dispatched to provide immediate help and emotional support. They can also refer you to agencies that can give you longer-term support. These services are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
