Snowmobile Goes Through Ice Results In Charges

(TAY TOWNSHIP, ON)- On Sunday March 29, 2015 at 3:40pm members of the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a snowmobile that had gone through the ice off Robins Point Road in Tay Township. The male snowmobile operator was able to get out of the water and made it safely back to his residence on shore. Police made contact with the operator a short time later and as a result of their investigation Kevin MITCHELL 26 years of Tay Township has been charged with the following Provincial Offences.

1) Drive motorized snow vehicle while licence suspended section 17.1(11)

2) Fail to display evidence of permit section 2(8)

All contrary to the Motorized Snow Vehicles Act and he will appear before the Ontario Provincial Offences court in Penetanguishene on May 21, 2015.
