(Cavan-Monaghan Township, ON) – Members of the Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and Peterborough Police Service responded to a threat conveyed to Crestwood Secondary School. Shortly after 2:00pm, Crestwood and neighbouring James Strath Public School were placed in lockdown while police investigated the source of the threat. With police present, students were slowly released to buses and waiting parents.
OPP investigators brought a 16 year old male in for questioning in relation to the threats. This male was ultimately released from custody without charges
The OPP are still investigating the source of the threat and are seeking information that may identify the person responsible.
