(MAPLETON TOWNSHIP, ON) – On March 28, 2015 at approximately 7:50 p.m., members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Traffic Management Unit (TMU) were conducting moving radar and monitoring traffic on Wellington Road 17 near Gerrie Road in Mapleton Township. A female driving a 2009 Volkswagon was observed travelling westbound well above the posted speed limit. The vehicle was locked on radar at 133 km/h and 134 km/h in an 80 km/h zone.
Her driver’s licence and vehicle were seized for a period of 7 days as per statute.
Linda PICKLES age 20 of Owen Sound has been charged with Race a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. She is to appear in Guelph Provincial Court on May 20, 2015 to answer the charge.
