(DRYDEN, ON) – On Saturday April 4, 2015 at approximately 12:34am (Central) the Dryden Police Service responded to a request to assist Emergency Medical Services with an unresponsive male at the Patricia Inn on Highway 17 in Dryden. The Dryden Police Service officers found an unresponsive male being given CPR by staff and patrons of the business and the officers assisted until ambulance personnel arrived. Paramedics provided emergency care and transported the male to the Dryden Regional Health Centre, where the male was pronounced dead.
At the request of the Dryden Police Service, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) North West Region Crime Unit under the direction of Detective Inspector Randy Heida of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) is investigating the circumstances surrounding the death.
The deceased has been identified as Travis Scott HERBERT, 35 years, from Dryden. A post mortem examination will be conducted in Toronto but the date and time is yet to be determined.
The investigation is continuing.
