At approximately 8:00am on Friday, Barrie Police received multiple 911 calls regarding a disturbance in the City’s north end. Investigation revealed that a male had contacted a prostitute requesting drugs and her services. After services were provided, the male attempted to steal drugs from the woman and a fight ensued. During the fight, the female was assaulted and pushed down some stairs. As she attempted to contact police, the male smashed her cell phone. He then fled the residence. The female attempted to go after him, but was held back by his mother. The female broke free from the mother and caught up to him as he attempted to flee in a vehicle. She managed to get the keys from the vehicle and both parties were on scene upon police arrival. A 44 year old Barrie male has been charged with robbery, mischief, assault and possession of cocaine. He has been released with a future court date.
