(SOUTHWEST OXFORD, ON.) – On April 7, 2015 at approximately 4:00 p.m., the Oxford County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a two vehicle collision involving a van and a Lang school bus, at Pressey Line near Culloden Road in Southwest Oxford Township.
Through police investigation it was determined that the male driver of the van had struck the rear of the school bus which was stopped with lights activated. There was one student on the bus along with the driver. No injuries were reported. The driver of the van was subsequently found to be impaired and was arrested. His driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded for 7 days.
Michael PALEN, 58 years old, of Norwich Township, is charged with the following:
· Operate a Motor Vehicle – Over 80 mgs. of alcohol in blood
· Operate a Motor Vehicle – Impaired
The accused was released on a Promise to Appear with a future court date.
