(CLEARVIEW TOWNSHIP, ON.) – On April 10th, 2015 at approximately 12:40 a.m., members of the Huronia West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police responded to a call from the Clearview Fire Department that there was a fire at a business on the Main Street of the Town of Stayner. Since Huronia West OPP members were at that time conducting a R.I.D.E. program just blocks away, Officers attended the area immediately, located the building the fire was in and started evacuating any residents from the area.
Vehicles from both Clearview Fire Department and Collingwood Fire Department attended the scene. As a result of this fire Police closed the Main Street (Hwy #26) of Stayner for approximately 4 hours to aid emergency services and to increase public safety.
Fortunately there were no injuries as a result of this fire.
The Ontario Fire Marshall’s Office has been called to assist in the investigation of this fire.
