(Cavan-Monaghan Township, ON) – Members of the Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are currently on the scene of a serious collision on North Monaghan Parkway.
Shortly after noon today, emergency crews were called to assist when an eastbound vehicle lost control. The vehicle left the road on North Monaghan Parkway and crashed through the ditch coming to rest on Whitfield Drive.
Both North Monaghan Parkway and Whitfield Drive are closed in both directions while police are investigating. The Highway Safety Division (HSD) of the OPP has been called to assist with Technical Collision Investigator (TCI) and Collision Reconstructionist.
The driver of the vehicle has been taken to Peterborough Regional Health Centre (PRHC) for the treatment of non-life threatening injuries. The passenger of the vehicle has been taken by Ornge air ambulance to a Toronto area hospital for treatment of serious injuries. The investigation continues.
