On April 9, 2015, members of the Guns and Drugs Section, consisting of members of the London Police Service and RCMP, along with the assistance of the London Police Service Emergency Response Unit, executed a Controlled Drugs and Substance Act search warrant at a Kipps Lane residence.
Firearm – 15-37101
Seized were the following items:
– 12 gauge break-action shotgun
– Three shotgun shells
– 42 grams of marihuana – $420
As a result of the investigation, Catlen McAuley (26) and Michael Richter (54), both of London, were charged with the following Criminal Code of Canada offences:
– Unauthorized possession of a firearm, contrary to section 91(1);
– Possess loaded regulated firearm, contrary to section 95(1); and
– Two counts of careless storage of firearm/ammunition, contrary to section 86(1).
They were also charged with possession of a Schedule II substance, contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
Catlen McAuley remains in custody and will appear in court today. Michael Richter was released from custody with a court date of Friday, May 22, 2015.
