(THUNDER BAY, ON) On Saturday, April 11, 2015 at approximately 7:05 pm, officers from the Thunder Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a collision involving an All Terrain Vehicle (ATV – side by side) on Boreal Road, one kilometre west of Highway 590.
The driver of the ATV was eastbound on Boreal Road when the driver crested a hill and lost control of the ATV resulting in the rollover and ejection of the male driver and female passenger. The driver was transported to hospital by land ambulance with non life threatening injuries. The passenger was transported to hospital by air ambulance with non life threatening injuries.
The 50 year old male driver from Thunder Bay was issued several Provincial Offence Notices under the Off Road Vehicles Act including:
Drive Off Road Vehicle – No Permit,
Drive Off Road Vehicle – No Insurance,
Fail to Wear Proper Helmet.
