(THE BLUE MOUNTAINS, ON) Officers from the Collingwood and The Blue Mountains detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charged a male recently with several criminal offences after police were dispatched to a break and enter in The Blue Mountains.
On the 10th of April 2015 shortly after 12:00am, officers were dispatched to a break and enter to a residence on Bridge Street East in The Blue Mountains. The caller was a resident of the dwelling who advised that she was awakened by a male who had entered her residence and could be heard walking in the house. Police attended the area and located the male on King Street where he was taken into custody without incident.
Investigation also revealed that the male had committed several thefts from motor vehicles and from the residence he had broken into. All property was recovered and the resident of the dwelling was not injured in the incident.
Charged is 34 year-old Jasson Ted VANOORSCHOT of Windsor, he is facing charges of Break, Enter a place – commit indictable offence, Fail to comply with conditions of undertaking given by officer in charge, 3 counts of fail to comply with probation order and 2 counts of theft under $5000 from a motor vehicle. He was held for a bail hearing in Owen Sound.
