(POWASSAN, ON) – On April 13, 2015, at approximately 8:20 p.m., Powassan Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a single vehicle collision on Highway 522, Nipissing Township. The vehicle had collided with two moose that were on the roadway.
The Powassan Fire Department and North Bay and District Ambulance Service were also on scene. The Powassan Fire Department utilized extrication equipment to remove the driver from the vehicle.
The driver of the vehicle was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
OPP remind motorists that most wildlife collisions occur between 5:00 am and 7:00 am and 6:00 pm to midnight. Use caution while driving and remain alert to your surroundings.
