Killaloe OPP Weekly Release

During the week of April 20 – April 26, 2015 there were 71 calls for service. There were two motor vehicle collisions; one was related to wild animals.

There were no domestic dispute call for service during the week of April 20 – April 26, 2015.

MOTOR VEHICLE COLLISION

(Killaloe, Hagarty Richards Township, ON) Provincial Constable Neil Gonzalez responded to a motor vehicle collision that occurred on Scenic Road on Saturday, April 25, 2015 at 8:30pm. Jackson Vandenheuvel, 18 years of age of Lamont, Alberta was operating a 2006 Grand Prix travelling westbound on Scenic Road with two passengers. Vandenheuvel’s vehicle struck an eastbound GMC Sierra pick-up truck being operated by John Prince, 44 years of age of Killaloe, Hagarty, Richards Township who was travelling with one passenger. The five people involved in the motor vehicle collision were taken to hospital. One passenger was further airlifted to Ottawa. Both vehicles were destroyed by fire.

VANDENHEUVEL was charged with Careless Driving contrary to Section 130 of the Highway Traffic Act.

COUNTERFEIT MONEY

(Bonnechere Valley Township, ON) Provincial Constable Cory Briscoe is investigating the receipt of a counterfeit $100.00 U.S. bill. The money was used in a business in Eganville on April 19, 2015. With the tourism months approaching police are warning businesses to be mindful of counterfeit money.

THEFT

(Bonnechere Valley Township, ON) Killaloe OPP are investigating the theft of a stop sign from the Mud Lake Road intersection. If anyone has information contact the Killaloe OPP or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

MISCHIEF

(Bonnechere Valley Township, ON) Provincial Constable James O’Dell has identified two youth who were responsible for damaging Centennial Park on Thursday April 16, 2015. A 12 year old male of Eganville and a 13 year old male of Pikwakanagan have entered the Extra Judicial Measures program.
