(TOWNSHIP OF SOUTHGATE, ON) – On Monday, April 27, 2015 at approximately 5:51 a.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a break-in and theft from a residence on Glenelg Street in the Township of Southgate.
Investigation revealed that the accused had forcibly entered his parents’ home while they were sleeping and removed several items belonging to them. The suspect was confronted by his mother, who called police.
The accused, who was located walking on Main Street in Dundalk, resisted arrest and attempted to damage the cruiser by kicking out the window.
The 36 year old, Township of Southgate man, is charged with Break and Enter, Mischief Under $5,000, Theft Under $5,000; Resist Arrest and Trespass by Night contrary to the Criminal Code.
A bail hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, April 28, 2015.
