In 2012 several computers were seized by Toronto Police from a Toronto business. Analysis of the computer data by the Ontario Provincial Police E-Crimes unit led to an investigation by Guelph Police.
On April 29, 2015 members of the Guelph Police Internet Child Exploitation along with Waterloo Regional Police Technological Crimes Unit executed a search warrant at a home in the City of Guelph, where the accused resided. During the search of the home, computer systems, external storage devices and other articles were seized.
Robert Spencer, 57 years of Guelph was arrested and has been charged with possession of child pornography and accessing child pornography. He will appear in court on June 5, 2015.
