(HALDIMAND COUNTY, ON.) – Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Haldimand County detachment is investigating fires in Selkirk, Haldimand County, ON area.
On Sunday May 3rd, 2015 at approximately 12:40 am Police and Haldimand County Fire Department responded to two separate fires in Selkirk which resulted in a pickup truck and storage shed being destroyed.
The pickup truck a grey 2006 Chevrolet was located parked in the driveway on 13th Street, Selkirk and was completely destroyed by fire. The pickup truck is valued at $15,000 dollars. The storage shed located on Wheeler Road was also completely destroyed by fire and it is valued at approximately $10,000 dollars.
Then today, Monday May 4th, 2015 at approximately 1:55 am Police and Haldimand County Fire Department were again called to 13th Street, Selkirk, Haldimand County address for a house fire. This was the same address as the pickup truck fire.
Upon arrival of emergency services it was found that a fire had been discovered in the residence bathroom which was extinguished but not before extensive damage was done. The home occupants sustained minor smoke inhalation and were transported to hospital by Haldimand County Paramedics for treatment.
