(GUELPH-ERAMOSA TOWNSHIP, ON) – On May 3, 2015 at approximately 3:50 a.m. members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated the driver of a motor vehicle on Wellington Road 124 near Whitelaw Road in Guelph-Eramosa Township.
Upon speaking with the driver, police detected the odour of an alcoholic beverage on his breath. A Roadside Screening Device test was conducted which resulted in a fail.
The 90-day Administrative Drivers’ Licence Suspension (ADLS) program was initiated and his motor vehicle was impounded for seven days.
Derek CHANTHAPHONE age 23 of Cambridge has been charged with Over 80 mgs contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on May 19, 2015 to answer to his charge.
