(GUELPH-ERAMOSA TOWNSHIP, ON) – On May 3, 2015 at approximately 8:40 p.m. members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Traffic Management Unit (TMU) were conducting R.I.D.E. spot checks on Wellington Road 39 south of Wellington Road 30 in Guelph-Eramosa Township.
Police investigated the driver of a 2001 Yamaha that entered into the check point and immediately detected the strong odour of an alcoholic beverage on his breath. A Roadside Screening Device test was conducted which resulted in a fail.
The 90-day Administrative Drivers’ Licence Suspension (ADLS) program was initiated and his motorcycle was impounded for seven days.
Jonathan FAGE age 42 of Guelph has been charged with Over 80 mgs contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on June 9, 2015 to answer to his charge.
