IMPAIRED DRIVER
(North Dundas) – On May 9, 2015 at approximately 6:35pm, Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers intercepted a vehicle on County Road 43, North Dundas Township. The stop indicated that the adult female driver was under the influence of alcohol.
Brenda PURCELL (52) of Ottawa, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;
– Care or Control of a Motor Vehicle while Impaired
– Care or Control of a Motor Vehicle with Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol in Blood
– Driving a Motor Vehicle while Ability Impaired by Alcohol
– Driving a Motor Vehicle with Open Container of Liquor (Liquor Licence Act)
She was released and scheduled to appear on the criminal charges at the Ontario Court of Justice in Morrisburg on June 3, 2015.
TRAFFIC STOPS – DRUGS SEIZED
(South Glengarry) – On May 8, 2015 at approximately 4:05pm, an OPP Highway Safety Division (HSD) officer intercepted a vehicle on Highway 401, South Glengarry Township. The stop resulted in the seizure of a quantity of suspected marihuana.
The male driver, Jason TYO (37) of Cornwall, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;
– Possession of a Controlled Substance – Under 30 Grams
He was released and scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Alexandria on June 10, 2015.
(South Glengarry) – On May 8, 2015 at approximately 3:14pm, an SD&G OPP officer intercepted a vehicle on Highway 401, South Glengarry Township. The stop resulted in the seizure of a quantity of suspected marihuana.
The male driver, Jabran WAHEED (28) of Markham, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;
– Possession of a Controlled Substance – Under 30 Grams
He was released and scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Alexandria on June 10, 2015.
(North Glengarry) – On May 9, 2015 at approximately 2:34am, SD&G OPP officers intercepted a vehicle on County Road 34, North Glengarry Township. The stop resulted in the seizure of a quantity of suspected marihuana. Further information indicated that two of the three male occupants were in contravention of conditions imposed from previous incidents.
The driver, Mohammed RIBIH (19) of Ottawa, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;
– Possession of a Controlled Substance – Under 30 Grams
– Fail to Notify Change of Address (Highway Traffic Act)
– Young Driver – Blood Alcohol Content Above Zero (Highway Traffic Act)
Passenger, Misayer FAHAD (23) of Ottawa, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;
– Possession of a Controlled Substance – Under 30 Grams
– Fail to Comply with Conditions of a Recognizance (3 counts)
Passenger, Ali SAMEER (20) of Ottawa, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;
– Possession of a Controlled Substance – Under 30 Grams
– Fail to Comply with Conditions of an Undertaking
All were held in custody pending an appearance (bail) at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall today (11May, 2015).
FAMILY DISPUTE ENDS IN CHARGES
(North Dundas) – On May 8, 2015 at approximately 7:52pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a family dispute at a residence on County Road 13, North Dundas Township. Investigation indicated that a verbal altercation between family members resulted in each causing damage to the other’s vehicles.
Joey CINNAMON (35) and Thomas CINNAMON (41), both from North Dundas Township were arrested and each charged with;
– Mischief – Under $5000
Both were released and scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Morrisburg on June 9, 2015.
THREATS
(South Glengarry) – On May 9, 2015 at approximately 9:12pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a disturbance at a business property on William Street, South Glengarry Township. Investigation indicated that an adult male had made threats to employees. Further information revealed he was in contravention of conditions imposed from previous incidents.
Serge ZARAS (80) of Montreal, Quebec was arrested and is charged with;
– Utter Threats
– Fail to Comply with Probation Order (2 counts)
He was released and scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Alexandria on June 10, 2015.
BREACH OF CONDITIONS
(South Glengarry) – On May 9, 2015 at approximately 5:34pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a residence on High Street, South Glengarry Township following a report of an adult male in breach of conditions imposed from previous incidents.
Terrence LEROUX (55) of South Glengarry Township was arrested and is charged with;
– Fail to Comply with Recognizance
– Fail to Comply with Probation Order
He was held in custody pending an appearance (bail) at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall today (11May, 2015).
MISCHIEF
(North Glengarry) – Overnight (May 07-08, 2015), culprit(s) attended the Island Park area in the Town of Alexandria, North Glengarry Township and caused damage to park benches, picnic tables and the bandstand area.
An investigation continues.
