The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 82 calls for service in the past 24 hours. Four people were arrested.

Man Charged with Failing to Comply CK15014260

The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a man for breaching his release conditions.

In February 2015, the man was released from custody with several conditions, including not to possess unlawful drugs, not to possess drug paraphernalia and not to possess any weapons. In March 2015, the man was again released from custody with similar conditions.

Just before 7:00 p.m. last night, an officer on general patrol observed the man riding his bicycle on Park Avenue West in Chatham. The man entered a fenced property through a small gap and was found hiding on CN Rail Property just north of the train tracks. The man was taken into custody as per the Railway Safety Act and searched incident to arrest. The officer found the man to be in possession of methamphetamine, syringes, drug paraphernalia and a canister of bear mace.

The 40-year-old Chatham man has been charged with 6 counts of failing to comply. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Man Charged with Breaching a Release Condition CK15014293

The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a man for failing to comply.

On May 14, 2015 the man was released from custody with several conditions. One of those conditions stated that he was to obey a daily curfew of 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.

Around 1:00 a.m. this morning, an officer attended outside a variety store on Grand Avenue West in Chatham for an unrelated investigation. While speaking to the man, the officer learned that he was bound by a curfew.

The 46-year-old Chatham man was taken into custody and charged with failing to comply. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere

Last night, officers conducted RIDE spot checks in Wallaceburg, Blenheim and Tilbury area.

A total of 157 motorists were stopped with four tickets being issued.

Break and Enters in Chatham

CK15014196 – Sometime between Wednesday and Monday, unknown suspect(s) entered a residence on Sudbury Drive and stole approximately $8000 worth of items. Anyone with information is asked to contact Constable Ian Scoyne at [email protected] or 519-436-6600 extension #87292.

CK15014268 – Sometime between Sunday and Monday, unknown suspect(s) forced their way into a residence on West Street causing about $100 damage.
