(COLLINGWOOD, ON.) – On May 20th, 2015, at approximately 4:30 a.m., members of the Collingwood and The Blue Mountains Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Collingwood Fire Department and Simcoe County Paramedic Service responded to a fire at a building on Saint Peter Street in the Town of Collingwood.
As Police arrived on scene Collingwood Fire Department was engaged in fighting the above fire. Members of the Collingwood Fire Department subsequently rescued two male residents who were unable to escape the fire on their own.
Both of these males a 49 year old and a 67 year old were transported to hospital in serious condition.
An OPP investigation into this fire is ongoing with the assistance of the Collingwood OPP Crime Unit.
