(CHATHAM-KENT, ON) On May 22, 2015, a Chatham-Kent Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was conducting RADAR enforcement on Highway 401 near Victoria Road.
Just after 9:00 p.m., the officer observed a westbound Mercedes SUV that appeared to be exceeding the posted speed limit of 100 km/hr. The RADAR registered a speed of approximately 157 km/hr.
The 36 year old male driver from Hamilton has been charged with racing. The driver’s licence has been suspended and the vehicle impounded for a period of seven days, as per statute.
