Community Watch started up again on the long weekend in May. This is a group of community minded individuals who volunteer a few nights per season to help make our community safer. Two volunteers drive our neighbourhoods on Friday and or Saturday evenings and report suspicious activity to police. It is always very difficult to measure what crimes may have been prevented but I can tell you police view this program as a very valuable partnership. Police cannot be everywhere so having that extra set of eyes and ears out there reporting unusual activity are of great assistance.

If you would like to volunteer please stop by the police office and pick up a brochure and speak with someone there. The time commitment is whatever you can spare, it might be 5 or 6 hours on a Saturday night once per month, it may be more, it may be less. You may prevent a friend or relative from becoming a victim of crime. Please think about volunteering.
