- Damage at Metro – arrest
On May 31, 2015 at 6:37 p.m., the Guelph Police went to Metro Food Mart on Edinburgh Road South for a disturbance. It is alleged that a male inside the store was knocking over displays and pulling items of the shelves. Police located the responsible male at the store and he was arrested.
A 23-year-old Guelph man has been charged with mischief over $5,000, breach of probation, breach OIC undertaking and two counts of breach of recognizance. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing on June 1, 2015.
2. Project Lifesaver works again
On June 1, 2015 at 12:22 a.m., the Guelph Police received a call to attend to the Stone Lodge with regards to a missing female. The female is a member of Project Lifesaver. A search of the grounds was performed with the lifesaver equipment and the female was quickly located without incident and returned to the care of Stone Lodge staff.
Project Lifesaver Guelph Wellington assists caregivers and responds to the challenges of keeping loved ones safe when they wander due to Alzheimer’s, Autism or other forms of cognitive impairment.
3. Break and enter’ s investigated
-On May 29, 2015, the Guelph Police went to a Vardon Drive residence to investigate a break and enter. The culprit(s) entered the unlocked garage sometime overnight and entered the vehicle parked inside. A theft from the vehicle is reported.

-On May 30, 2015, the Guelph Police went to a store on Woodlawn Road East to investigate a break and enter. The culprit(s) entered through the roof sometime overnight. A theft of approximately $150 worth of candy is reported.

4. Theft from cars
Over the weekend the Guelph Police received eight reports from Guelph residents about thefts from their cars. The locations Ironwood Road, College Avenue West, Talbot Street, Stevenson Street South, Metcalfe Street, Lynwood Avenue, Dublin Street and Rodney Boulevard.
This crime is easily avoided by locking your cars, keeping valuables out of sight or removed from your vehicle and parked in a well-lit and visible area where possible. 5. Drive over 80 mg – arrest
On May 31, 2015 at 1:45 a.m., the Guelph Police conducted a traffic stop with a motor vehicle on Woolwich Street. Police spoke with the male driver and a demand was made for a roadside breath sample. He failed this test and was arrested.
Tyler Driscoll, 22 years of Guelph has been charged with drive over 80 mg. He will appear in court on June 15, 2015.
6. Weekend Storm
On Saturday the rain storm caused some damage and dangerous conditions throughout the city that led to thirteen calls for service by Guelph Police and also involved Guelph Hydro, Public Works, GWEMS and Guelph Fire.
In one incident, flying debris went through the windshield of a moving vehicle smashing the windshield. The female driver received minor injuries. A majority of the calls were for downed trees and wires. One incident on Edinburgh Road South had four cars damaged when a tree fell on them and GFD had to attend to Dublin Street to deal with a branch on fire after it struck a hydro wire.
