(ESSA, ON)- On June 3rd 2015 at 9:20am, a member of the Nottawasaga Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was conducting radar southbound on County Road 10, when a vehicle was found to be speeding 55 km/hour over the limit.
The Officer turned around to stop the vehicle and another officer was travelling in their direction and activated their radar, the vehicle’s speed increased to 163 km/hour in an 80 km/hour zone.
The driver was stopped and during the course of the traffic stop, the Officer detected an odour of alcohol and conducted a roadside approved screening device. The driver failed the test and was arrested.
Nottawasaga OPP arrested the driver, a 27 year old Mississauga resident, Zachary WARNER, he is charged with:
Driving with more than 80 mgs of alcohol, and
Dangerous driving (Criminal Code of Canada)
His 1997 BMW was impounded for a period of seven days.
He will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Bradford on June 24th, 2015.
