(North Dundas) – On June 4, 2015 at approximately 1:34pm, Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to a report of a two vehicle collision on Boyne Road, North Dundas Township.
A Ford passenger vehicle, driven by Carmel Donn SMIRL (83) of North Stormont Township was westbound when, for reasons under investigation, the vehicle collided head-on with an eastbound dump truck, driven by a 61-year-old male from South Dundas. SMIRL was taken to hospital where he was pronounced deceased. The driver of the truck sustained minor injuries; he was taken to hospital also.
SDG OPP officers assisted by OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators (TTCI) continue the investigation.
