(PENETANGUISHENE, ON) – Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) along with Simcoe County Paramedics responded to call on June 4, 2015 around 3:28 p.m. about a girl who had fallen off her bike on Robert Street Penetanguishene, ON.
The young girl was cycling on Robert Street in Penetanguishene when her bike tire hit the loose gravel shoulder causing her to fall off her bike. Luckily she was wearing her bike helmet which prevented any serious injury.
Southern Georgian Bay OPP cannot stress enough how important it is that everyone riding a bicycle makes use of their safety equipment. Staff Sergeant Burton would like to commend this young lady for wearing her helmet and setting a good example to young people out there in her community.
Operation Freeze 2015 is now under way. The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is once again teaching kids that getting caught ‘doing the right thing’ this summer can be cool. Wearing your bike helmet is an example of doing the right thing. In partnership with Mac’s Convenience Stores, OPP officers will be handing out free Froster coupons to kids caught doing something positive in the community.
