Serious Collision On Highway 11/17

(THUNDER BAY, ON) At approximately 12:05 pm, officers from the Thunder Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and Superior North EMS responded to a multi vehicle collision on Highway 11/17, just north of Oliver Road.

The driver of a Buick LeSabre was north bound on Highway 11/17 when a family of ducks was observed crossing the highway. As the driver reduced her speed as she observed the ducks on the highway, her vehicle was struck from behind by the driver of a Honda motorcycle. The driver of the motorcycle was ejected from the motorcycle and landed on the pavement in the north bound lanes. A Jeep Patriot and a Ford truck were also involved in the collision

The male driver of the motorcycle was transported to hospital by ambulance with critical injuries.

The OPP continue to investigate the collision.
