(THUNDER BAY, ON) On June 15, 2015 at approximately 4:25 pm, officers from the Thunder Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a single vehicle collision on Highway 588. The collision involved the driver of a Ford truck that entered the ditch along Highway 588 in Strange Township.
While speaking with the driver, officers detected an odour of alcohol emitting from the drivers breath and the driver exhibited obvious signs of impairment. Subsequently, the driver was found to be over the legal limit.
There were no injuries reported. The vehicle sustained extensive damage.
Lawrence STRINGER, 67 years of age, from Oliver Paipoonge was arrested and charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Operate a Motor Vehicle with Over 80 mgs of Alcohol contrary to the Criminal Code.
He is to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Thunder Bay on August 14, 2015 to answer to the charges.
