(NORTH MIDDLESEX, ON) – On June 16, 2015 at approximately 11:48 p.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) observed a possible impaired driver travelling northbound on Brinsley Road.
The motor vehicle, described as a light coloured GMC pickup truck, continued travelling westbound on McGillivray Drive, where officers initiated a traffic stop. The driver, a 21 year old male, failed to stop his vehicle for police.
The pickup truck turned into a private laneway. The driver exited the vehicle and walked towards a residence. Police followed the male on foot, and determined that the driver had been drinking alcohol.
The male was placed under arrest and transported to a Middlesex County OPP detachment for breath testing.
As a result of the investigation, Jesse COOK, from North Middlesex, Ontario, has been charged with obstruct peace officer, driving while ability impaired – motor vehicle (alcohol and drug), and adult flight while pursued by peace officer, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.
The accused was released from police custody on a Promise to Appear (PTA), and is scheduled to answer the charges in a London court on August 4, 2015.
