(GUELPH-ERAMOSA TWP.,ON) – Today at approximately 8:10 a.m. members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) came across a serious motor vehicle collision involving a motorcycle and Ford Mustang at the intersection of Wellington Road 30 and Guelph Township Road 3 in Guelph-Eramosa Township. Officers responded along with the Guelph-Eramosa Fire Department, Guelph Wellington Emergency Medical Services (EMS), Wellington County and Guelph-Eramosa Roads Departments.
The collision occurred in the middle of the intersection.
The male operator of the motorcycle was transported by ambulance to a local hospital and subsequently transferred to a Hamilton Hospital by air ambulance in life threatening condition.
The male driver of the Ford Mustang was transported by ambulance to a local hospital with minor injuries.
Members from the OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigation Team (TTCI) are on scene. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
Guelph Township Road 3 at Highway 7 and St. Charles Street and Wellington Road 30 at County Road 7 and the Guelph-Eramosa/Woolwich Townline remain closed at this time while the investigation is ongoing.
The roads are expected to remain closed for approximately another three hours.
