DRUGS SEIZED AT TRAFFIC STOPS
(South Stormont) – On July 1, 2015 at approximately 3:40am, SD&G OPP officers intercepted a vehicle on Highway 401, South Stormont Township. The stop resulted in the seizure of a quantity of suspected marihuana from an adult male passenger.
Andrew NASSIF (19) of Brossard, Quebec was arrested and is charged with;
– Possession of a Controlled Substance – Under 30 Grams
– Fail to Comply with a Probation Order (condition imposed from previous incident)
He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on August 11, 2015.
(South Glengarry) – On July 1, 2015 at approximately 2:02pm, Highway Safety Division (HSD) OPP officers intercepted a vehicle at a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) check at an off-ramp of Highway 401, South Glengarry Township. The stop resulted in the seizure of a quantity of suspected marihuana from the adult male driver.
Ravyn PIERCE (22) of South Glengarry Township was arrested and is charged with;
– Possession of a Controlled Substance – Under 30 Grams
He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Alexandria on August 5, 2015.
(South Glengarry) – On July 1, 2015 at approximately 2:10pm, Highway Safety Division (HSD) OPP officers intercepted a vehicle at a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) check at an off-ramp of Highway 401, South Glengarry Township. The stop resulted in the seizure of a quantity of suspected marihuana.
The adult male driver, Sharma BAZINET (27) and female passenger, Jamie-Leigh THOMPSON-TULK (26), both from Mississauga, Ontario were arrested and each charged with;
– Possession of a Controlled Substance – Under 30 Grams
Both were released and scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Alexandria on September 2, 2015.
(South Dundas) – On July 1, 2015 at approximately 8:00pm, SD&G OPP officers intercepted a vehicle on County Road 28, South Dundas Township. The stop resulted in the seizure of a quantity of suspected marihuana from the adult male driver.
Robbie STITT (34) of South Dundas Township was arrested and is charged with;
– Possession of a Controlled Substance – Under 30 Grams
– Speeding (Highway Traffic Act)
– Drive with Passenger Under 16 not Properly Wearing Seatbelt (Highway Traffic Act)
He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Morrisburg on September 1, 2015.
DOMESTIC INVESTIGATIONS
(North Dundas) – On June 30, 2015 at approximately 10:01am, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a domestic situation at a residence on South Street, North Dundas Township. An altercation between an adult female and her ex-spouse resulted in the female causing damage within the home.
The 41-year-old female was arrested and is charged with;
– Mischief – Domestic
She was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on July 21, 2015.
(South Glengarry) – On July 1, 2015 at approximately 12:40pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a domestic situation at a residence on County Road 18, South Glengarry Township. Investigation indicated that an altercation between an adult male and his ex-spouse resulted in the female being assaulted.
The 64-year-old male was arrested and charged with;
– Assault – Spousal
He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on July 21, 2015.
(South Dundas) – On July 1, 2015 at approximately 11:11pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a domestic situation at a residence on Carraway Crescent, South Dundas Township. An altercation between an adult male and his girlfriend resulted in the male causing damage within the home. The accused was later involved in an altercation with three (3) adult males at a property on Fifth Street and was assaulted.
The 29-year-old male from South Dundas was arrested and is charged in reference to the domestic with;
– Mischief Under $5000
Three (3) adult males (22-25&27 years of age) all from South Dundas Township were arrested and each charged with;
– Assault Causing Bodily Harm
The 29-year-old is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on July 21, 2015. The 22&27-year-old males were held in custody pending a court appearance (bail) in Cornwall today (02Jul15) while the 25-year-old is wanted.
The names of the above accused are being withheld in order to protect the identity of the victims.
BREAK-IN
(South Glengarry) – On July 1, 2015 at approximately 10:23am, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a break-in at a residence on County Road 2, South Glengarry Township.
Investigation indicated that just prior to police being called, culprit(s) forcibly entered the home and removed a quantity of assorted jewellery.
An investigation continues.
THEFT FROM VEHICLES
(South Stormont) – Overnight (June 30-July 1, 2015), several (5) unattended vehicles were entered at properties on Jean Street and Thomas Street, South Stormont Township. One vehicle sustained damage to the rear glass. A quantity of loose change was removed from the vehicles.
Investigations continue.
