On August 30th Wingham Police were called to an Edward Street address where a man had just stolen a motor vehicle. Upon arrival, police were also advised of an assault that had occurred and that there had been a threat of violence using a firearm. Police then attended a Diagonal Road address where the firearm was alleged to be stored and they were met by the suspect.
The suspect resisted arrest and in the process he sustained an injury. Police seized four rifles and three hunting knives from the residence and vehicle. The Province’s Special Investigation Unit was called in to investigate.
