(CITY OF GUELPH, ON) – On July 3, 2015 at approximately 1:28 a.m. members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Traffic Management Unit (TMU) were conducting R.I.D.E. spot checks on Highway 6 near College Avenue in the City of Guelph. Officers investigated the driver of a 2001 Honda that entered into the checkpoint. Police immediately detected the odour of fresh marihuana in the vehicle. The driver surrendered a clear baggy containing suspected bud marihuana at which time he was placed under arrest.
Craig WITZEL age 27 of Blandford-Blenheim Township has been charged with Possession of Marihuana Under 30 grams. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on August, 2015 to answer to his charge.
