(FORT FRANCES, ON) – On July 4, 2015, at 5:31 am, officers of the Rainy River District Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to the report of a break and enter in progress at a residence located at the 1200 Block of Idylwild Drive in Fort Frances, ON. Police received a call stating an intruder was in the residence and fighting with the home owner.
Police responded within minutes of the call and learned the suspect had fled the scene and entered a bush area. With the assistance of the Treaty Three Police Service the area was contained and with the assistance of the OPP K-9 unit a male was located and arrested.
Subsequently, Randolph LINKLATER, (age 35) of no fixed address has been charged with,
-Break and Enter into a place
-Break and Enter with intent to steal a firearm
-Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
LINKLATER remains in custody and will appear in court for a Bail Hearing
