(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON.) – Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers from the City of Kawartha Lakes (CKL) detachment conduct two separate traffic stops that led to the following charges.
On July 7, 2015 a CKL officer stopped a vehicle on King St. W. in Omemee for a Highway Traffic Act (HTA) violation. The investigation revealed that Steven SCHWARTZBERG, 47 years of age, of Toronto was a suspended driver. The accused will appear in Lindsay court on August 11, 2015 charged with driving while suspended contrary to the HTA.
On July 7, 2015 an officer stopped a vehicle on Ramsey Road, for a HTA violation. The investigation revealed that the driver, Nathan REEDS, 36 years of age, of the City of Kawartha Lakes was a suspended driver. The driver was charged with driving while suspended contrary to the HTA. Additionally, the passenger and vehicle owner, Ryan MACINNES, 37 years of age, of the City of Kawartha Lakes, was charged with owner-permit operation of motor vehicle with no insurance, contrary to the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act. Both charged persons will appear in Lindsay court on September 8, 2015.
