Cody Christopher STEELE – Trafficking, Breach

(Hiawatha First Nations, ON) – Members of the Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), member of the OPP’s Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) and Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau (OCEB) executed a search warrant issued under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) today just before 5:00am.

Investigators were assisted by the Tactics and Rescue Unit (TRU), Emergency Response Team (ERT) and Canine Unit in entering the Herkimer Point Road address in Hiawatha First Nation. Residents of the home were arrested while police seized a quantity of Oxycodone pills, cellular telephones, scales and ammunition.

Cody Christopher STEELE (age 25) of Hiawatha, ON was arrested and charged with:

Possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking

Fail to comply with a recognizance of bail (3 counts)

Fail to comply with a condition of probation

The accused was held in custody for a show cause hearing scheduled in Peterborough Provincial Court for later today.
