Theft Of Fuel

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Norfolk County Detachment is investigating the theft of fuel from a Talbot Street, Courtland, Norfolk County, Ontario, address.

On Thursday, July 9, 2015 in the early morning hours unknowns attended Cargill Limited and proceeded to cut a large hole in the perimeter of the fence gaining entry into the property. Once inside, unknowns located fuel storage tanks and removed a quantity of fuel.

Businesses and farms with large fuel storage should make sure pumps and the access to the storage tanks are secured with heavy duty locks. If the location is isolated and unsupervised for long periods of time, consider installing lights and security cameras.

Remember, if you see something, say something. If you see suspicious persons or behaviour approaching your property or roaming the area, call the Norfolk County OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
