(BRACEBRIDGE, ON) – Members of the Bracebridge Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to several traffic complaints about a vehicle driving erratically in the town of Bracebridge yesterday, July 10th, 2015 at 8:00 p.m. Callers reported that the vehicle was driving at a very high rate of speed and was swerving on the road and squealing its tires. Police responded quickly to the area, located the vehicle and attempted to stop it. Ultimately the vehicle led police into a parking lot near Dominion Street and where a traffic stop was conducted.
24 year-old Ricki-Lee JEFFREY of Bracebridge has been charged with the following offenses:
Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle CC 253(1)(a)
Over 80 CC 253(1)(b)
Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle CC 249(1)(a)
Driving While Disqualified CC 259(4)
Flight from Police CC 249.1(1)
Driving Under Suspension HTA 53(1)
The accused was held for Bail and will appear in Bracebridge Court on Monday, July 13th, 2015.
