Pickup Truck Taken From Parks And Rec Compound

(HUNTSVILLE, ON)- On Tuesday July 21, 2015 just after 3:00am members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Huntsville detachment were on regular patrol in the town of Huntsville. One member observed a motor vehicle on Ravenscliffe road approaching with high beam lights on. The officer turned around to conduct a traffic stop but lost sight of the vehicle.

While on patrol a short distance later, the same vehicle was located in the bushy area of local business on Ravenscliffe Rd., in the town of Huntsville. The green Chev pick-up truck had ran into a retaining wall causing a substantial amount of damage to both the wall and the truck. The driver was not with the vehicle. Canine and Emergency Response Team (ERT) assisted in the search without success.

Investigation found that the truck belonged to the Parks and Recreation department located on William St. Huntsville. The truck had been left at the compound around 11:00pm on Monday July 20, 2015. The keys were not in the vehicle.

Huntsville OPP is seeking the public’s assistance in helping to locate the person who had taken the pickup truck from the address on William St. Anyone with any information is asked to contact Huntsville OPP or Crime Stoppers.
