(WEST PARRY SOUND, ON) – On July 19, 2015 a member of the West Parry Sound Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was on patrol with the cruiser that is equipped with an Automated Licence Plate Recognition (ALPR) on Waubeek Street in Parry Sound. The ALPR identifies suspended/unlicenced drivers, stolen vehicles, wanted registered owners, unlicensed drivers and expired/stolen plates. At 12:54 a.m. the ALPR system received a hit advising that the owner of a vehicle was wanted on a warrant.
A traffic stop was conducted and the officer determined that the owner was the driver. Jeffery OICKLE, 57 years old, from Parry Sound was arrested and was also charged with Possession of a Schedule II Substance – Cannabis Marihuana – under 30 grams as per the Controlled Drugs and Substance Act (CDSA).
The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Parry Sound on July 22, 2015.
