(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment investigated a theft at a Cockshutt Road, Waterford, Norfolk County, Ontario address.
On Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at approximately 5:38 p.m., police received a call from a concerned resident after noticing that unknowns had removed a stop sign from the intersection of Cockshutt Road and Concession 7, Townsend, Ontario.
Street sign theft occurs when street signs are stolen, often to be used as decorations. Sometimes considered to be a prank, the theft is often costly and inconvenient. This is extremely dangerous to the motoring public and could have caused a serious or even fatal collision for anyone not familiar with the roadways in Norfolk County.
