On July 23, 2015 at approximately 7:47 p.m., the Orillia OPP was dispatched to a collision on Highway 11 north bound between County Road 169 and Coopers Falls Road. When officers arrived on scene they located two vehicles that had been involved in a collision. A truck had collided with the rear of a passenger vehicle and sent the vehicle into the guard rail.

There were two males and two females in the car and a male driver in the truck. The driver and passengers of the car were transported to a local hospital with various injuries. The truck driver, from Tiny Township, was not seriously injured. A 25 year old female passenger from the car was later transported to a Toronto trauma centre with life threatening injuries. Two of the occupants of the car were from British Columbia and the other two occupants were from North Bay.

Highway 11 north bound was closed for several hours while the OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators (TTCI) attended the scene. The passing lane of Highway 11 northbound and Highway 11 south bound were closed for a period of time for guardrail repairs. All lanes have since reopened.
