(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON.) – A member of the City of Kawartha Lakes (CKL) detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped a vehicle July 23, 2015 in the afternoon on Kawartha Lakes Road 46 which resulted in the driver being arrested and charged with four offences.
During the vehicle stop the officer determined that the driver had been consuming alcohol and subsequently conducted a roadside test. As a result of the investigation, the driver, David LYON, 47 years of age of the City of Kawartha Lakes, is charged with the following offences:
Driving with more than 80 mgs of alcohol in 100 ml of blood contrary to the Criminal Code
Drive while disqualified contrary to the Criminal Code
Drive while suspended contrary to the Highway Traffic Act
Drive motor vehicle with no currently validated plate contrary to the Highway Traffic Act
The accused will appear in court on August 27, 2015.
