(SOUTH HURON, ON) – A 22 year old driver is facing three charges after he was stopped by police on July 27, 2015. Just after 9:30 p.m. Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers received a call from a witness that reported he was following an Acura that was travelling eastbound on Dashwood Road in an erratic manner.
Officers began patrolling for the suspect vehicle and within a few minutes an officer intercepted the suspect vehicle at the intersection of Main Street North and Thames Road East in Exeter.
Upon speaking with the driver the officer determined the driver held a suspended driver’s licence. The driver was placed under arrest and searched. Upon searching the driver and his vehicle officers found the driver to be in unlawful possession of a Schedule I substance (Oxycodone). Further investigation revealed the driver was currently serving a probation sentence and was failing to abide by a condition of his release.
As a result, 22-year-old Saif SAMI has been charged with: Possession of a Schedule I Substance, Fail to Comply with a Probation Order and Driving While Under Suspension.
He has a scheduled court appearance set for August 27, 2015 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Exeter.
