(MUNICIPALITY OF BLUEWATER, ON) – On Friday, July 31, 2015, shortly after 6 p.m., in response to a traffic complaint on London Rd., a Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer stopped a vehicle that was observed swerving in its lane. The female driver displayed signs of impairment and was transported to the Exeter OPP Detachment where she failed to provide breath samples. The female was also found to be in possession of Marihuana, an open container of liquor, and unmarked cigarettes.
55-year-old Jean-Anne DUBE of Toronto, has been charged with, “driving while ability impaired” and “fail or refuse to provide sample”, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. She was also charged with “possession of a schedule II substance, cannabis marihuana under 30 grams”, contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. She faces additional charges of “driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor”, contrary to the Liquor Licence Act of Ontario, and “possess unmarked fine cut tobacco”, contrary to the Tobacco Tax Act. She is to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Exeter on August 27, 2015 to answer to these charges.
